Franklin police said a Hamilton man is being sought after he allegedly shot a woman in Franklin, who could not be revived by first responders.

Franklin police said a Hamilton man is being sought after he allegedly shot a woman in Franklin, who could not be revived by first responders.

Franklin police posted via social media that Elijah Thomas was taken into custody after he allegedly shot and killed a woman in Franklin.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Boulder Drive at approximately 12:39 a.m. Sunday. The woman was shot multiple times, and first responders were unable to revive her.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Katelyn Puckett of Lebanon, Lt. Brian Pacifico with the Franklin Division of Police, said.

The suspect, Elijah M. Thomas of Hamilton, fired multiple shots at the woman before fleeing on foot. He was arrested around 9:34 a.m. Sunday after/during a traffic stop in Franklin, according to Pacifico.

He was taken into custody without incident, Pacifico said.

Charges for murder and felonious assault are pending for Thomas, according to police.

Thomas is held without bond at the Warren County Jail and his arraignment will be Tuesday.
